Morino

Venancio Morino, head of accordion design at Hohner in the 1930s developed the model that would bear his name for many years. Since then it has become the world's most successful top class accordion. The Morino 2001 has raised the standards even higher, particularly in terms of the keyboard layout, sound design and ergonomic improvements. The Trossingen design team has scaled new heights.As soon as your press the first key, it is clear how much time and effort the Hohner engineers have invested in the development of this high quality wooden core treble keyboard instrument. The key bearings have been fitted with state of the art, almost frictionless guide elements derived from space and automobile technological advances. The fulcrum of the keys has been moved back by some 23mm to allow the right hand better keyboard access. The keyboard has itself been positioned closer to the player and the register keys rearranged to enable more rapid response and easier orientation. Playing comfort is increased by an extra clip on the shoulder straps which allows a wider range of adjustment. Improvements have also been made in the bass section with special attention being paid to the ease of action and the elimination of noise.

The "H I" reed plates with their wide reed shoes are finely adjusted by hand to produce the absolutely identical, smooth and balanced sound quality for each individual tone, throughout all ranges of the instrument. The basses are famous for their immediate responsiveness. The outer metal parts are plated with real gold and the ornaments are cast in gold oxide.The wooden parts are fashioned from carefully aged precious timbers. The design and immediate responsiveness of the wooden keys offers the player precision, effortlessness and velocity of execution demanded by any musical articulation or phrase. The bellows are constructed of light weight, sturdy but highly flexible special manila cardboard lined on the inside and on the outside with linen ensuring optimal air management.
